Disc Styli
Spherical disc are sections of a precision balls, available in different thicknesses and diameters. Such styli come in use where it is necessary to realise the measurement of large inside diameters or the integrated undercuts. Important note: Normal disks are unsuitable for probing in the Z direction (except discs with radius end rollers).

Type M
A spherical disc stylus offers the convenience of a straight spherical disc as a probe element. Regarding function, spherical disc styli are identical to spherical discs, but they provide better and more stable connections due to the fixed mounting. They also have a more comprehensive feasibility range regarding disc thickness.

Type N
Spherical discs are generally used alone or in combination with a clamping probe or a clamping screw. These discs are usually used when large probe diameters are required to measure diameters in undercuts.

Type O
A spherical disc stylus with a through stem offers greater rigidity than a "normal" spherical disc stylus. Otherwise, the two types function and are applied in the same way.
