The adapter plate is the central interface between a coordinate measuring machine, a stylus, and the workpiece to be measured. In most cases, these have an integrated electronic identification chip, which enables precise stylus identification. The adapter plates serve to accommodate different probe configurations. The main advantage is that the required styli can be changed quickly and precisely.
